(affordable) battery recommendation for an 08 FE450?

Hi guys

Looks like the battery I got from the local auto parts store 2 years ago is dead. I'm looking for a new one and noticed a lot of people recommended shorai which looks very impressing but a bit out of my budget right now. Is there any other, less expensive batteries you guys could recommend?

Try a motobat been best battery out of last few i have brought.

I got a battery from taffy. It's never let me down and I don't keep it on charge. Even starts after a four week layoff.

More cca's and lighter weight. plus a very reasonable price.

The motobatt goes for about $64 on Ebay, which is not bad.

The TurnTech are VERY interesting. the CCA is very high and weight is very low. the only thing I didn't like about it is the relatively short warranty period. anyway KTM-Talk have them for about $101 shipped (for members) so it is cheaper then the shorai and looks like about the same quality.

helithumper - From my understanding, the right battery for the 08 will be the 5 .0 Amp. is that the one you are using?

Does the 5 amps fits right in or are there any modifications required? I'm looking at ordering one from Ktm-parts by the end of the day.

It fits with no mods needed. Getting to the battery is a PITA, though.

Been there - done that. took 3-4 riders and a whole evening. can't understand why husaberg will do this to us.

I got the 5 amp ordered the other day, I'll be spending Christmas getting it on.

I have a Turn Tech 5 amphr in my 2012 FE 570 & it's a fantastic battery, it's about 18 months old now originally used it in my old 530 exc . It's very strong & actually gets stronger as it heats up when you used & it's less than half the weight of the original yuasa, they are certainly not the cheapest but they are a very good choice of battery.
