my 14 year old son is outgrowing his bike, ( he will be 15 in feb)

he has been riding a CH racing machine, ( yamaha TTR 125 4 stroke engine in CH chassis, full size wheels) for 2 seasons, no motocross racing just enduro adn trail riding

i am looking into a new bike for him,

Currently looking at a Husqvarna WRE 125 2 stroke enduro.

any thoughts on this,

Pampera, DRZ 250, CRF 230X, etc... If you trust his skills, then why not a 250F?

As for the Pampera, I have seen Splat's son on it and he is quite skilled and fast for his age and seemed to be having a blast.

The DRZ 250 is quite the pig, though

250F .

are you talking about a blue bike, was at least trying to keep it blue and yellow 8O

Hi Iceberg,

Your budget?bike be new or used?
don´t know too much about the Iceland-bikescene (more US or Europe bikes)??

I didn´t own a WRE125, but I had one for some weeks: Engine had more MX than Enduro-character,
fine for competition, but not so good for trailriding ..

Anyway,if you´re looking for used bikes:
reliable,good (and cheap) trailbike was Suzukis DR350 or the newer 400;
Yamahas WR250F is never wrong

it depends on his height and weight to a point .

i took my son around to the dealer ships just to size him up .

a bit like getting him a pair of shoes .

he fell in love with a CR 500R  , so did i .

Totally agree with you and your way of looking for a "perfect" fit.
CR500 :D :D - maybe not "the "bike to make the first step into motorcycleing,
but loooooooooots of fun

What a dad
