I could do with some advice on the pro's and cons between an 08 fe450 and a 09 fe570
I am thinking about changing my 08 for the new style 09, ( I cant get my hands on a 450 only the 570,) Moving the 09 around in the shop it seems heavier that might be all in my head I'm not sure ?.
I mainly do green lanes and the 450 is ideal, Would the 09, 570 be to much of a handful, I understand that the new bike can be remapped but can it be brought down to the power of the 450.
Has anyone changed there old bike for the new one and regretted it after.
All ideas will be taken on board.
many thanks
mark.

The 09/10s feel heavier in the shop mainly because of the higher centre of gravity (COG). They are also heavier, but by all accounts it all reverses once you ride them. The idea is that the rotating masses and weight are close to the COG both longtitudinally and the roll axis vertically. This means they handle easily. The 570 is easier to ride than the 450 because its more forgiving of being in the wrong gear.

650 for me.
Steve

try to have a ride on the 390, I think you will find it an amazing easy bike to ride and the ideal green lanes trail bike, you will think you are on a sub-250cc bike, or 200cc 2stroke etc

Thanks for the sugestions Gazza, I missed our local dealer open day last year so would be unable to try one, plus i can only find 570's on 09 plates going cheap.
Also thanks for your input Steve, Dont like the idea of them being heavier, i can understand what your saying once they get going, but its picking the bugger up when i fall off, I do like the idea of it being more forgiving not being a very good rider i quite often find myself in the wrong gear  and i have found my 450 pulls like a tractor  and has got me out of trouble many a time.
All comment appreciated
