WL,
It's worth what ever price someone is willing to pay for it..... with that said, I think your best bet is to take this opportunity to learn about the bike and try to get it running again. I think by opening the bike up and poking around in there you might just find the problem and who knows, maybe you can fix it. No harm done, the bikes not running as is... what do you have to loose besides a few bolts??? The bike will definitely be worth more running than not, I would say ~$2500-3000 running and ~$1250-1500 not running if your lucky enough to find the right Husa-enthusiast. Someone who doesn't know about bergs would be hard pressed to pay more than $1K for the bike I would presume.
Suggestion:
You have a good bike with lots of grin factor just waiting to be unleashed!
Download the Workshop manual from the site.
Start with the easy stuff like the carb and electrical connections and tidy everything up again.
Gaskets are cheap and be bought for less than $20 bucks! With care, remove the transmission side cover, valve covers, and stator cover and inspect all your stuff, and junk, and stuff....
There is a hard start guide:

You should download this document and read it over. This will be your guide to getting the bike up and running again.
If selling the bike is your what you need, than you should be able to double your asking price by getting the bike running again and unless major parts are in order should be a minimal cost.
I think by working on the bike as stated above, you might just fall in love with the machine and never want to part with it, especially since you have made the initial investment in purchasing the bike.... the hard part is over!
Now all you need is a few metric tools and you can work on virtually every part of that wonderful bike we have all grown to love! :thumb:
