i have fs 650 e its a 2003. it starts not too bad starting cold about 20 kicks ran it 40 miles and stopped then took 1 and half hours to start and in that time never even tried to start eventually had to bump it to get it going. one bruised foot and ego later i am pissed off with it only been out 3 times on it due to the starting issue. is has just had plug filter oil (1l is that enough) and new coolant.
starter isnt worth the weight as it has never started the bike.

is there anywhere near edinburgh that has good knowledge of these bikes as dave clark racing is miles away and seen a few posts about taffmasters i think it is and assume they are miles away too.

any advice would be ace

cheers scott

Hello Scott

very difficult to help you from that far away. I don't know anyone up your way that will have a clue and DCR isn't a big fan of leccy start and tends to recommend that you remove everything.

what I can suggest is that you take it to a competent mechanic and between the three of us I can coordinate the work to be done and feed advice into the mechanic. that has worked quite well in the past.

another alternative is too simply wait for a lorry heading south. I'm 3 miles from Turners Transport and on the main A14 into east anglia.

anyway, just some ideas.

right now it sounds like you may have a stator problem. nothing else would really stop you for an hour and a half i don't think.

regards
