I discovered about a week ago that there is a oil leak where the 2 inner most cases join. I cleaned the area up and put some non-harding gasket sealer on it. Well I checked it again today and still had a leak. I recleaned and then put a thicker coat on. I will recheck tomorrow. Where it leaks the cases don`t look like they are flush with each other. It might have been leaking for some time. There is no rock damage or anything else. I just want to know what you used to fix something like this.
Thanks

Im afraid you will have to split the cases to fix that problem right. I am not sure of any "bandaid" (surface aplication) that will work. Is is a leak or just a weep. If it is just a weep I would run it until it either got worse or yoou need to split the cases. of corse you need to check you oil :D

Thanks. I guess I would describe it more of a weep. I noticed it because the bike has been parked on its kickstand and hasn`t been rode in a while. It is more of a annoyance than anything else for now. I check everything before ride, just a good habit to have. :D
Thanks again

Hi Bill!

I would check all case bolts first. Get a torque wrench, a hex bit and get going. 10 Newton-meters if I´m not mistaken.
You could be lucky.
Otherwise, like Bobzilla says, you have to split and re-seal.
Of course it would be interesting to know what caused the seal to break if the case was properly torqued. Hopefully just a bad silicone job and not warped surfaces. If you split, have someone to check the surfaces before putting it together again. Beyond my level of knowledge as to what is acceptable.

A courtesy reply deeply rooted in customer service

Early model Husaberg engines (in particularly "E" Start) rely on engine mount pressure to assist in main case sealing. Insure the front engine hanger bolts to be in good condition and adequately tightened.

Thanks Dale. I have never heard of that before. I will check that while I`m into it. The weep is in one small area, less than half inch long. That is where the lip between the 2 cases is the worst, about the thickness of a credit card is the difference. Learn something everyday
Thanks

Problem solved  . Fixed it with 2 nylon washers. If it starts again I will have to go to a oversized drain plug," one that self taps"
Thanks
