Hello all.
I installed the Adler slipper clutch, bought out of the KTM power parts (part number: 78032000100), on my FS570.
I have had many issues with it:
First: the clutch was not engaging properly - slipping the other way. I checked the oil level in the MC to find out there was too much oil. Removed excess fluid.
2: Now there was no slipping (well, almost). Now it was not possible to shift gears - the clutch has the same feeling as shifting without the clutch. Finding neutral when engine is working is since fiction.
3. Starting the engine not in neutral drains the battery in WARP speed. (one track day destroyed)
So, after loosing too much time on the straits during a racing weekend, I reinstalled the original clutch - everything works OK.
Once time was at hand - I rechecked all spare parts supplied with the Adler clutch. Calculated spring rates, researched the geometry to verify that I understand the proper use of large and small shims. As it turned out - I indeed used the harder (larger spring constant) and the 0.5 mm shims properly.
4. I installed the Adler Sh^& again, this time with the softer springs. Now the clutch slips even in 2nd gear, even before the engine oil gets up to temperature. I verified that the MC has the correct fluid level.
5. ALL discs - friction and others - are in very good condition. The clutch rod is in the correct position. The clutch baskets are properly aligned.
Has anyone had similar problems with the Adler slipper clutch and solve them?
I am seeking the wisdom of the forum, I have no useful ideas (other then manufacturing custom shims using trial and error and maybe solving the issue).
