Hi there sparks,

Click "Post Reply" while viewing the thread.

Enter your post in the textbox as usual

scroll down to the section labeled "Add an Attachment".

Click browse In the popup, choose the image on your computer that you want to put in your post. Click OK.

Enter any comment you may want to make for the image in the section labeled "File Comment".

Click "Add Attachment".

The image will upload to the server(this may take a moment, depending on your connection speed and the file size).

Once it refreshes, click submit to submit the post.

now it's been explained i can do it. wasn't it easy!

what's the difference between

just the grey box?
grey box with small photo?
a large photo straight into the thread?

regards

Taffy

Hi there Taffy,

Just the grey box means that either the file was not an image format(pdf, zip, etc), or it was too large to show(I believe the max allowable for the uploaded photo 500 px when it will no longer allow it to show in the post)

The grey box with an image means that the system allows it's size, and it's a recognized image format.

Just the image means that someone simply used image tags to insert an image into their post:

Code:
[img]http://www.domain.com/images/myimage.jpg[/img]

and didn't necessarily use the upload feature at all.

Better?

thanks,

SEM source coils stripped

Hi,

Just thought this might be of some interest to somebody, it's a photo of four SEM stripped source coils from a stator a guy sent me from Seattle. You can see the thin green lines this is where the enamel has deteriated and the copper wire has oxidised when the moisture gets in, this brings shorted turns(low voltage output) or compete open circuit.
All so you can see how tarnished the copper wire is should be a bright copper colour.

Sparks.
