hi guys, was just wondering if any one from here is intending to go to A4DE at Harvey this year as my brother and I are keen to do it.

also if you have been to it b4 some pointers things that could help us to be better equipped to tackle it?

Cheers in advance.

Do you know much about the 4 day, i have done 2 and helped a team at one
The first thing is fitness, ride fitness, be prepared to do approx 200ks a day at fairly quick trail pace, not much time to rest, most riders can do the trail but not all can keep on there time.
Do you know how timed enduro events work, if not find someone to get you up to speed.
Ask me some questions and i'll answerthem for you if i can.
It is fun, don't be intimidated, firstly ride to finish as it is a big thing to have a finishes medal

thanks for that, we have never done an enduro race event, there are some small events prior to this we would like to do then A4DE is coming up and my bro and i will both have brand new bikes so figured it could be worth a shot and Harvey is where we go to ride so home ground advantage :p from what i understand it doesn't really matter where you place as i am not going in it to win it, as the bike will still be relatively new to me i would like to get 1000km on it at Harvey b4 we attempt this. can you give me more infor regarding the timings and placings? I am looking for info regarding what to pack and if you know about specific rules i should be made aware of, i have browsed the rule book and it all seems fairly standard. my brother and i ride at the same pace, not slow either i might add, there is **** loads of single track in Harvey, I’m guessing a lot will be used for this event.

Just wrote a big long winded reply only to have it disappear when i pressed submit so went and found this

not a bad read

have you thought about helpers, there could be as many as 3 fuel stops which normally are hard to get from one to another so we have helpers stay at each location for the day

Ask more

how much pit time to do repairs or change tyres do you get? what frequency do you get this time?

do you think we may need to change tyres in the 4 days due to wear?

what should we take to the Parkferme to set up our area, as my bro and i have a bit of gear would we be able to set up a quick shade ?

Cheers in advance!!

10 minutes each morning, 15 minutes each arvo this happens each day obviously tyres depends on terrain you should be ok, I did not change tyres in my first 4day but have done in the others, invest in moouse tubes though, good to not worry about getting a flat and less gear to carry
You must have a pit area set up, quick shades are fine, you can also hire shipping containers for your pit so you can leave your stuff locked up

thanks for that, was curious what the fk is my pit crew supposed to be doing if we only get 25mins total to work on the bike?? we have already purchased Tubliss kits for our wheels, do u reckon the mousse is that much better or should we just stick with the Tubliss?

I personally would use moouses, especially if you plan not to change tyres, tubless is nice but what will happen if you cut a tyre, you cannot change a tyre during the day.
Do you know that basically your pit crew cannot work on your bike, they can only assist you given you tools, spares, food and advice, your crew can do anything to do with fliuds, oil, coolent, fuel, brake fluid
