RE:

enjoy! one of the most troublefree 501's.
where are you located? create a signature with the model bike and your location please, so we can know better how badly to treat you.

The 97, 98 and 99 models were all kissing cousins, last and best of the original design motors, I kinda like'um. Lets see some pics of your new to you bike.

A very straight foreward design and IMHO easy to work on. Properly tuned and maintained it'll last a long time and run strong.
The new Bergs are, of course, better but I'm building a '99 during my 'down time' out of all the spare parts I have accumulated because the early ones are such a good play bike.
Have fun and welcome aboard. The UHE is the best resource on the planet for Husaberg advice.

30,000+km now on my 98 FE 501 and still running strong. Keep the fresh oil up to them (I like Delo 400 @ 5hrs) and they are great. Keep and eye on valve followers and the rest is normal dirt bike.

Pics of mine and its mods in my gallery.

Is it a FE501 or a FE501E (with the e-start)? The e-start ones have a balancer shaft that makes them vibrate a bit less. I've got a motarded '98 600E that eems OK for 500+km in a day on the road without too much monkeybutt.
