Hi, me again. Does anyone know if the 1997 501 plastics are the same shape as the 1996 501? Found some cool decals from a guy in america for a 1997 501 but neither of us know if they will fit my bike. And another quick question, is the fairing shape the same for the fc501 and the fe501? my fe501 has some aftermarket plastics on so im not sure exactly if it looks standard(mine doesnt have rear number boards, its just a small strip of nos yellow plaztic on both the left and right side). Ive looked for pics on the net but im still unsure. As always all replies are greatly appreciated

A picture of your bike would be a great help.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think the 95 and 96 are the same, but different from the 97 and 98, that are the same.
The FE and FC should be the same, apart from the tank, that you can have the short tank in the FC, but the decals should fit.

The 97 does not have the drop down tank with the fuel pump so you will not have a quicker for that and side plastics different.

I stuffed up. The 97 fe does have the same side panels, but not the mud guards. The 98 model changed the side plates. The drop down tank was around till 2000. Remember to drill a small hole at the bottom of the ignition case just in from the cover to let moisture out and cool air in to preserve the sem as long as possible.
