My tank has a leak from the screw insert for the exhaust bracket. Any experience in fixing this.
I'm selling the tank and would like to fix it before hand.
I have a tanks bought in 2013 on the last production run. Due to broken bones and other dramas in my life over the past few years I've never fitted the tank until a few months ago. It now seems I have a leak from the top insert for the exhaust bolt also.
I also looking for some advice how to fix it if it is indeed possible.
I would try contacting DaleEO to see if he has any suggestions or fixes. I would try an epoxy adhesive as a last resort. The fuel is not pressurized in that location so you just need something to seal up the leak and keep the mounting insert in place. I did not realize fuel sits in the exhaust tab area until I looked at my subframe tank. Never noticed it before.
Red Kote is a great fuel tank sealer. It is a inexpensive permanent fix and works excellent. It is resistant to just about all chemicals and is dry in about 12 hours.
