baught the bike about 4 weeks ago in a state its a 2003 and oil been changed regular useing good grade oil and filter changed every other oil change.the seller had dificulty starting so hence he sold it.i set about cleaning it first then striped the wireing and checked all conections cleaned and refit and sealed.then new speedo £20 of ebay.lubed the chain.then onto the brakes striped and copper greased the pads front and rear,its fitted with motard wheels at present with large beringer front disc and caliper wheels are ktm with cushdrive.spare set of enduro wheels with wavey discs and brembo front caliper all brand new or near enugh.now onto the engine and clutch striped the hear off to check valves found to be over size but very clean and also looks like the head has been ported.nexed the piston clean and in good order.checked the decompretion lug been blob welded so no problems there.rebuilt and new oil added and filter changed.fitted new clutch slave cyliner kit as was leaking and now good clutch.this has taken about 2 weeks.now for the carb and ignition timeing.rebuilt the dellorto carb with all new jets and needle.now the ignition did the dead stop method to find tdc found it to be 6 degrees out set timing up with new mark. and now the exhaust made a new tail pipe from an old twin port race pipe from a vfr800 made by blueflame its about half the weight of the oe one and all stainless,you can block off the top port for road use and its realy quiet with no efect to the power or running.fitted new ngk iridium plug and shell v power fuel three full kicks and and she started run it for 20 miles stoped checked oil 2nd kick it started again.just needs a new stator from sparks and itll be as good as new will post some pictures soon.great bike and thanks to all who helped me on this website without you i couldnt have done it so thanks to all and dave clarke raceing for the parts.
