Unfortunately for me on the weekend I suffered the common Husaberg 4 stroke 2009 to 12 bike not starting problem. The bike will crank but will not start. If you listen you will NOT hear the fuel pump prime after the start button is pushed.
The problem is the broken switched earth wire from the power regulator. The wire is corroded in the wiring loom next to the rear shock gas cyclinder on the left side. The loom is wrapped and does not seem damaged, the wire looked intact but pulled apart easily. The test is to check for continuity between the power regulator plug white/black wire under the tank and the diagnostic connector white/black wire . I also found another wire that had rubbed through the insulation and would have failed eventually.
This fault has been reported a couple of times on the Husaberg forums. I don't know why the wires got damaged, I can only assume the shock rubbed against the loom rubbing away the insulation and causing the wires to corrode. Some solder, insulation tape and a few new cable ties and we are back on the road.
Has anyone found the root cause to this issue
