wossner 8602 D
100
23.4

644 (82mm stroke) piston is the same as the 550 they are flat topped and speced at a volume of zero

==============

628 (80mm stroke) 04 up is taller and has a volume of minus 10.5cc

oem 628 piston
100mm bore
24.5mm deck height
278gm, 70gm pin

there are other pistons cheaper with the same dimensions, pro-x 01.6606 is the cheapest

=================

so yes you can

elsnorro did it 04 up "628" elko piston in a 550

machined the top of the piston, tight squish and 13:1 CR

easy to machine the piston in a lathe or if you are adventurous use a flat table, kerosine and some sandpaper

thanks for the info just picked up a 05 fe 550 righthand side main failed did the liner and piston in already have a spare liner purchased it for my 05 450 with new piston from shop getting rid of all there pre 08 husaberg stock piston was right but liner is 550 but has worked in my favour anyway. so is standard piston better than wossner I noticed that standard is heavier but rings seem far stronger more life.

can you put 650 piston in 550

as I said....NO! unless you want the wrong compression, to machine the piston when you don't need too and to lose the coating around the squish.

the oil ring is the weakness in the oem stuff its one piece machined cast iron... 1960s brigs and stratton tech

both are equally good IMHO although the oem 628 piston seems to crack more often than the others. i didn't break mine 220 hrs pretty good flogging but only 11.8:1 CR

there is also the pro-x 550 piston .. cheapest easiest option.

Are there any off the shelf Wiseco pistons that can be used in any of the BerG's? 450/550/650? Even if the have to be modified. Its easier for me to source Wiseco locally, and waay cheaper.
