501 engine

after building a 380cc engine for enduro use, it just doesn't have the power i need, so i am going to look for a 501. heres the question. what mains. roller or balls etn9 or c4 bearings etc. what about the head. double spring etc what value? i am not building another one so this has to be right.

You can rebuild the 450, but you cannot build a 501. THe 496 is possible if you have a 550 by using the old 501 piston and sleeve.

I built a 380 with a 01 400 EXC cam in it that ran really well. Perhaps try that. 13/50 gearing also helped. Unfortunately if you are looking for a stump puller, you need the displacement, but really, for normal enduro use, a 380 is a wicked weapon, once you tap into its attributes.
