Just out of curiosity.... as I've yet to get any descent riding on the "just purchased" 05 450.
What can you expect from a Tank of Fuel?... The Owner was claiming 120kms before your about to start pushing it home. I thought being a 4T, Consumption would fair (even if just a little) better then the 2Ts?

Hi Dan, it quite depends on your riding style. On A motorcross circuit it can be as little as 100 km. i used a 05 450 a lot for rally riding and roadbook trips, added a little 2.4 liter subseat gastank and did up to 220 km on that. so an average of 125 ( + or - 25 depending on your style and place) is about right.

correctly jetted i would say 3 hours in the woods and about 3 in the open would be possible. geared at 48/14 for woods for example.

regards

Taffy

Over here we use a mile as a measuring tool for range,Not the hour meter FFS.

Exactly the same i do on a tank with my '04. But mine is supermoto so enduro will be a little more i guess.

Hi Dan

As you can see, your answeres are as varied as the different riders.

Taffy has it sorted as from the mechanical and time perspective, don't go for distance off-road as it will let you down and you have no reserve...unless you also speak to the said man and get his special fuel taps. A few short laps during a technical enduro could sap more fuel than say a ride down a few fire trails, logical as is dependent on throttle use, gearing and conditions such as mud, sand, rock or hard track. Time is your best measure.

Rider style is also a factor ocncering fuel consumption. 2 mates have the same bikes as mine yet after about 2ish hours 'laning we put in different amounts of fuel ((by 1-2 litres!) and this is mainly down to our different riding styles.

This is an easy one, thank your lucky starts you bought one of the best 4-strokes with best consumption, if it was a 'stoker you would have the oil issue to worry about as well. Most and best of all, Enjoy!
