Hi All,

I know that a lot of you were/are running the 4 Gallon tank that BOSS created several years back. And I understand that they are now unavailable due to the mold breaking....

I am starting this thread to get a feel for the demand out there for this 4 gallon tank. If there are enough takers I am considering duplicating this tank so that all of you who need/want this tank for those long hauls is available.

Post and let me know!

I'd buy one if you could make it happen. In natural of course.
 
If it was about 3.3 gallons I would buy one and maybe 2 if it didn't have any issues
 
Huh? What exactly is this tank. Does it go on the front, middle, back? Does it go over another one, replace another one? Might be interested if I knew WTF it was!
 
I will explain for you Blackboots since the poster has assumed that everyone knows about the Boss tanks.

Once upon a time this guy made some big ugly 4 gallon aftermarket fuel tanks. ( I say ugly anyway..)
They were for the 00- 08 model Husabergs (someone please correct me if i'm wrong) They replaced the stock fuel tank.
I believe they were made for a few years and now it has been several years since they have been out of
production. I don't recall why they stopped making them.

I think these tanks were actually made by Clarke, and BOSS sold them... I managed to find one cheap on ebay about a year ago... I love mine.. I'm never worried about running out of fuel anymore.
 
Sounds great! better air flow though the sides vents for better cooling would be great. I still have one working with a funky petcock mount.
 
Now that I've actually seen the tanks I'd like to comment to Dale.

The 4 gallon tanks are not what I'm looking for for my FE450. They are just too big and bulky looking at 15 litres. I think they would spoil (for me) the light trails & tracks that I ride. I

I still want the subframe tank, giving me a total of about 12 litres. It doesn't upset the look of the bike which is important to me too, and I could always take a small 2 x 1.5 litre fuel bottles in a backpack for the extremely rare times I might need more range. I get 120 - 150kms on the 8 litres anyway. Maybe more if I was cruising at 70 instead of averaging 40.

So I'm going to kick back and wait for this mysterious subframe tank which was forecast at about mid August......
 
Subframe tanks are for the 09-2012 bikes if I am not mistaken. There was a small less than one gallon tank that was for the underseat area on the 01-08 bergs if that is what you are asking about....they are rare.
 
Black boots, you say you have a 8 litre tank? What year is your 450? My 05 has a 9 litre tank and the 2007 tank I bought here in the classifieds is 10.5 liters.

I have an underseat tank also, it came with the new bike, it's 3 liters.
 
Hey Blackboots45, this post has nothing to do with the LDC 2009 - 2012 model bikes.
 
I would most certainly be standing in line with cash in hand if these were released. The lack of an aftermarket fuel tank is the only reason that I'm looking at the orange side of things. I have been looking almost daily for the past year and narrowly missed out on a used BOSS tank. Please make this a reality!!
