Hi guys im new to the forum, so last year i purchased a brand new fe450. I am extremely happy with this bike !!! It just feels so agile! But one thing i have noticed is that my last few rides the fan is kicking in alot more frequently? I first noticed it when i was riding quiet sandy terrain, and it was quiet warm so i can understand the bike is working overtime... but i went out on the weekend and it was cold and drizzling rain and the fan was kicking in quiet a bit? I was riding single trails but i wasnt putting around so the bike had plenty of airflow. Is this normal? Any help would be much appreciated.

Agile they are!
I have a 501fe and on a couple of occasions the fan has been doing a bit of overtime.
Sometimes maybe the temperature and a bit of humidity might get it working some.

I short shift in tight stuff and go a bit easier on engine rpm, and focus on keeping it moving along and haven't had to many problems, however if stuck on a bit of snotty stuff or a hill , I see it would get pretty hot quick also.

Maybe there is a bleed screw in the top of the motor or method of checking the fluid system for air locks or something. I've not read into any of that stuff yet myself

Yes they do work allot, My 350 works allot in the single track as well hill climbing. I would however check the fluid level and the rad's for sand/mud ect as it can clog the fins :)

I always notice my fan running each time I stop prior shut down.

I am very please with my 14 so far, Runs great with no problems yet. I did find the 4cs a bit different, but now like it.

Oh how rude of me :)

Welcome to the forum, lots of great stuff and people here :)

make sure your coolant is topped up! some may have run out if you dropped the bike!
