A little information on my latest dirt bike.
My 2013 TE250 has three months of riding on it about 700 miles
I blue printed the cylinder and set the piston to head clearance
eliminated all the street bike stuff ( this is a dirt bike, electric start, come on guys) a one kicker every time!
The bike rips and is very tractable (stays hooked up) power is great!
The bike weight NOW that it's a dirt bike is 223 with .8gal of fuel on a calibrated scale. I was very impressed with the weight! Tubliss system front and rear with Dunlop 31s
Went to lighter shock and fork springs for my 145lbs and the lighten bike weight. Changed the shims in the shock and forks to work with the lighter springs. tried 2 1/2 sikokene pro RSF, not enough dampening control went to 5 same brand oil much better now.
Forks and shock work great together, these 4cs fork are amazing what hits they absorb with perfect steering control when set right.
Really like this TE250
BUT if I had to sell the TE250 or my 2010 FE570 with close to 20,000 miles of off road riding on the bike, it would for sure be the 250. The 570 is still my all time favorite bike for all-around use and fun.
The TE250 would be my choice if I was still competing in racing.
Have a great ride

spoke to Phil at Hilltop (HTM) today and he said "we can't keep the old LDC bikes on the floor!"

they're sold straight away. a great bike the FE570e!

My plan is to buy a TE300 and do exactly what you have done. Strip it from as much weight as possible.
And I wont sell my 570. Never.

The leccy start is handy though on my 300 for those occasions your stuck on top of some big fallen tree you didn't quite hit hard enough to Clear or on the side of a hill.

Do fancy getting hold of a 570 for trail riding
