took my new fs 570 for a rip its down on power to my 09 fe570 . I put a 13 tooth on the front but i realized i think it's mapping ?

Have the 2010 Fs 570 - I left stock front cog but swapped the rear for a 48. Good bottom end and will still pull 130kph. Enough top speed for me.I have map switch also but I leave it on the standard setting. When I use
either of the other two settings- no power increase just a difference in the way the power is delivered.the downside is on any setting other than standard- the bike runs hot and generally like a pig.

I would be interested to hear other peoples opinion re map switch.
Cheers

I run 'soft' on the trail and 'aggressive' on the pavement. A noticeable difference, mostly in how quick the power is delivered, but also a bit in amount, especially with more throttle and RPMs. It would be interesting to see dyno runs on the three different settings.

I have had no problems on any of the settings. Others have said that the 'aggressive' setting gives the best fuel mileage.

talking out of my a... maybe but if you reduce the power by using the ignition you make the bike very inefficient so i find the reasoning very plausible.

From what I have been told, the mapping settings change the ignition mapping, not the fuel mapping, so you are retarding the igniton? If that is the case then it isn't surprising that fuel mileage suffers on the 'soft' or 'standard' setting as compared to the 'aggressive'.

FWIW,

I used my map switch last weekend, we had stopped to get around a fallen tree in the middle of very slippery clay gully climb.

I switched it to what I thought was the soft setting, it wasn't!

I got up the hill, just, it was like riding a scalded cat. Mental!
8O

try 14/48 or 14/45 gearing. 14/38 is sh*t unless you want to do 200+kph

I've seen 180+kph indicated with 14/48 gearing and was in a massive slapper at the time :D

if the bike is chugging and feels slow its probably the map, mine was all f-ed up when i got it, not sure what map is in it now but its better than it was.

if you want more easy power get a slip on and a DNA filter + open the airbox a bit.
