Getting ready for the 2011 Forest Rally - RallyMoto in April next year, this is a short high speed WRC sprint style type rally with mutliple short 20 - 30km long stages over 2 days. The event is a round of the Australian ARC car rally championships, but since this year they now run motos & quads as well.

SO after missing out on the top step of the podium this year by just 25 secs we are going to have a real crack at it next year

To do this not only will we have a hot shot rider on board but also the bike is going to be tweaked somewhat

We will run a 2010 FE570 with a Thumper Racing 610cc big bore kit, head ported, 44mm Bergo's racing throttle body, full Bergos Domas exhaust system with header bomb, open up the airbox, a slipper clutch and a 310mm front disc to pull her up.

We figure much of a full blown supermotard approach (but with normal FE wheels) will work well on the gravel road WRC style stages.

Once the motor is together will put it on the dyno and see how it goes

I look forward to info on how the mods work out. Dyno runs at each step (as possible) would be nice.

Not that I want to build a race bike, mine has plenty of power for the trail riding I do - indeed, a bit much for that (so I run it in soft mode), but I plan on getting a snow bike kit and that just sucks up the power (and gas) so I keep my eyes open for power options and their effects.

As for the airbox - I noticed a difference by putting a hole in the seat - I personally think that option will get you more power than the piddling little holes people drill in the sides.
