Hi, under the headlight there is a 6 pin connector that gets some if it's wires from the Key switch. This 6 pin connector is capped off with a male connector that has wires that cross over to make connections with wires within the connector and it is heat shrink covered. It leads nowhere, its purpose is to connect some of the wires together.

I lost this end cap on the trail. Bike still started up and ran. Lights did not come on, you do not hear the fuel pump anymore when key is turned on, but bike seems to run okay.

Problem is, I do not know what wires get connected together on this 6 pin connector, schematic I could not tell, there is no part # listed for this that I can see, called dealer and they don't seem to know.

This pin connector has 5 wires going to it: Black/White, Red, Brown, Green/Black, Yellow/Red.

Does anyone know which of these get connected together?

Thank you

There's a wiring diagram available. iirc it's in the service manual - do you have one? You should be able to deduce the connection from there I think. (There also exists a connector-specific spare parts booklet. Not sure if it will help. It might?)

You can find a copy here on the forum, or in the Google Drive in my sig (mostly same content). The service manual is basically the same from '09-'12.

I'd think this connector was unrelated to the pump. I would believe that if the bike runs at all then the pump is running. Probably you already had pressure in the fuel system so the controller didn't activate the pump. But idk!

best of luck! :) I'm sure this will get figured out in no time

6 Pin

Hi and thank you for your response. I have the wiring diagrams, there are several in one of the books provided when I bought the bike. I'm sure the answer is in there. I don't think I will ever understand them, seem to be for an Electrical engineer.

Thought the same thing about the pump, it must be working, just now that the connections are missing it does not pressurize when the key is turned on, seems to pressurize now when motor starts. Maybe worked as a primer.

I checked mine, the jumpers are as follows: brown to black with white tracer, green with black tracer to red. The other two pins are not used.

I took a couple pictures of the plug if you need to see the configuration. PM me for contact info.

Hope this helps, Merry Christmas!
