Quick question.

My 570 has gotten harder to start and I thought it was the battery getting low.... after replacing the battery it still turns over very slow and is hard to start, both when cold and even when hot (engine and outside temp).

Maybe wondering the the bike has a decompression release when the starter engages that is not working? or something similar...

Any insight or help much appreciated, thanks in advance,

Howard

Think I found the issue via search (should have done that first):

"talked to Husaberg and reportedly there was a few "bad" cams that would not decompress. Apparently the decompression lifter was indexed wrong so that the flat spot was slightly exposed to the rocker so as it slid by it would catch the rocker and rotate back down immediately and thus would not decompress. May be hard to visualize without the cam in your hand but she starts perfectly now."

Wonder is there is any chance this will be fixed under warenty, lol

Thanks,

Howard

Dont know about a 11 bike, KTM replaced my 09 cam for free when it eas 12 months old.

Habe you checked your valve clearances lately?

The torque limiter can also cause this, but when mine did it it was just hard to start hot. It is an easy fix--I removed mine and tightened it up half a turn and it works good again.

How many miles/hours on motor?

Does it have the original fuel pump?

Check valves 1st, then if valves are ok, check torque limiter.

I have same issue as the video. How did those with this issue repair?
Bought a new revised cam.
Revision says to be a ten degree offset of the decompression acuator, did the trick for me and someone else tried after that aswell being successful.
Tried to find the part numer for you, but not at the moment. Same cam as for the ktm 530 2014-ish from memory.
There is a post on this forum regarding the old and revised part numbers, search for it.

Ah got it! http://husaberg.org/mechanical/18825-starting-problems-570-2010-a.html --> #78736010033 is what you want.
Its well priced for a new cam imo at €180 or so. And no shimming was required for me = excellent precision, not just within spec but identical. Half an hour job to swap and from then on it starts just fine.
For me it was toast at 330hrs, but the symptoms came way ahead of that, just I didnt understand the hints.
As this is the same cam as for the ktm no worry at this point as KTM will stock it, but long term users may want to buy one now.
