My Burg 570 is giving me a single spark at turn over, then nothing from the plug wire. I've pulled off the cap at this point to eliminate it from the equation. It will not spark again till I shut the ignition off/on and spin it again, where it shoots a single spark once again.

I've replaced the coil pick up on the advice of the dealer who had similar symptoms on a few F.I. KTMs but no difference. Next suspect I'm told is the stator itself?

I've been all over the wiring harness and found a spot where the sheathing was worn away by the zip ty holding it away from the shock, wires look intact underneath and a bundle by the right side steering head was pinched into a kink, wires insulation looks OK though. I've pulled and straightened the wires but no difference. That bundle has purple, yellow/blue, brown and a black wire in it. I've unplugged everyy connector at this point, trying it at every one, no difference.

Thanks for any advice. Bike has about 1000 miles on it. Started having starting troubles and devolved to this stage.

Stupid, stupid STUPID!!! The injector wire wasn't plugged in!

Bike started right up.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!

Hopefully this thread can help someone else in the future, the injector must set the default code for no ignition?

Hey, whatever works. Glad you found it. Where exactly does this injector wire plug into? The injector itself or the CPU and how easy is it to become disconnected?

Didn't the FI light flash the following code?
3x long, 3x short = Injector

 thanks for posting despite the embarrassment, worth knowing for other mechanical noobs like me!

The plug was the one right to the injector. Hard to even see it in between the frame rails.

My dash was "modified" by a tree travelling at about 45 MPH from what my son tells me. Damn thing ran right into him and broke all the indicator lights! :cuss:

Yes, hopefully it points someone else towards the problem in the future. We got it back together with a bunch of laughing and cursing, started it and the throttle felt "funny", then it stuck open but the bike was running rough. Someone had installed the airfilter without pulling out the paper towel. I hit my helper in the face with a shop rag.

It runs really well without the paper towel in the TB.

Been laughing alot and blaming each other for screwing it all up.

Thanks for posting this issue up (I followed it from another single spark post here on this site).

I had exactly the same symptoms and it turned out also to be a paper towel that I had left in the TB.

Thanks again.
