Yes I am that wierd snow guy and have my own set of issues! :mrgreen:
Last week it was -20deg F. I fired up the 2010 FX450 and let it idle up to operating temp. Then two miles up the trail it died. Upon inspection I found the timing chain guides completely melted and totally wore away with debris all through the motor. The intake rocker arm shaft was the first thing to go dry and seized the rocker arm to the shaft.
I run Rotella synthetic 5W -40
Could have the extreme cold caused to much oil pressure on the tensioner and made this happen?
