Hey all,
I just bought a used 2010 fx 450. It has low hours, seems to run good. The guy had the 2011 ktm fuel pump and in line filter installed. Outside of that its basically all stock. Anything I should check out? I'm picking it up tomorrow and will likely tear it down this weekend.

I got into riding in the trails in northern MI and have been running my kx 250 but it has a hard time keeping up w/ those big bore 4 strokes on the long runs. I did a lot of research and it led me to the husabergs. Hope its a good bike!

Thanks for the help.

Have a look on here about the mods to do on your bike.
I've a fe450 and love it, you'll certainly be keeping up with the big bikes now!
Things you should look at doing in my opinion(and I'm no expert, just an average rider)
Waterpump weephole seal. (it'll drip coolant out the weephole, just under the waterpump)
Exhaust can mod or aftermarket slipon. (I opened up the stock can and cut most of the final bend off) this reduces heat and increases hp.
Fuel tank filler sock. (keep the crap out of your fuel pump)
A "charge and maitain" type battery charger. plug it in between rides to keep your battery sweet (no kickstart so no backup for a flat battery)

Further down the timeline you should look at a Dirttricks camchain tensoiner, and front sprocket washer.

I haven't done the midpipe exhaust wrap mod (no issues so far so will wait and do if it starts boiling the fuel)

Apart from that it's just basic maintainance.
Change your oil and filter every 5, or 10hrs (lots of debate here about oil type and how often).
I always change out the coolant and brake fluid on any used bike I purchase, it's cheap insurance and youll have a starting point of when everything was fresh.

Check your brake pads, wheel bearings, chain & sprockets etc.

Have fun, you'll love the bike.
This is the best place to find the answers to your future questions. There is a mountain of info here if you search for it.
