just after some info on how much oil is everyone putting in after a full filter and oil change i know the manual states 1350ml but will this make oil level to high as surely you dont get every last drop out
cheers aquajett

Dont these new motors come equiped with a level window or a dipstick?
Dont be a sheep (your mates will want to ride you......) think!
I think I get where Taffy is coming from in the 'is the site healthy?' thread.

I must need some cats p*ss.

I didn't keep track of how much I put in, but I kept adding oil until it was above the level the manual said was the minimum (half way up the sight glass). I've run it a bit since and I didn't overfill.

yes they do have a site glass BERGBRO and they have a min and max level so there is a bit off scope in how much oil you can have in them and as far as the site being healthy my 08 650 had husaberg written on it and so does my 2010 570
cheers for youre excellent input BERGBRO

Put in a bit less than it says in the manual as you're right about there inevitably being some trapped in the engine and it's easier to add more than to take some out. Then see where it ends up and top up if required. I put about 1.2L in initially and that leaves it just a bit low.

It's easier on the FE than on some other bikes as the level is meant to be checked cold, so run the engine briefly to circulate the oil and get the oilways, filter housing etc filled up, stop the engine and wait a while to let the oil drain back down (bearing in mind it will be quite thick as it's not hot) then check the level and top up if it's low. That's my approach anyway; no doubt others will disagree!

Hi aquajett,
I remembered this oil post DaleE0 added some good info to. Worth a read I reckon.
I pretty much do it the way petem does it, little less oil than required, then top it up a second time.
