Good luck with your efforts this year. I will be following the Team very closely as I have done in the past.

Will you be producing any Team tshirts etc. I purchased two of your Dakar shirts earlier this year and I wear one with pride. The other has not been taken out of it's plastic bag.

Gazza, I am keen to buy 2 x Dakar and 2 x Husaberg Rallye Racing Safari team T-Shirts if they are available. XL size.
Regards,
Davo.

The team shirts are a one off order unfortunately and we only ordered what we need, but I'll post the suppliers details once we get ours for anyone who wants to go direct :D

70 Degree Racing subframe fuel tanks on 2010 Safari

We just got 3 of the new 70 Degree Racing subframe fuel tanks to use on this Safari. The gear looks good and well made, will hook them up next week.

The tanks will go on Ze Helio, David Schwarz and my bikes. Annie Seel dosent need the extra capacity as she is so light on the fuel and easy on the bike.................read very fast but very smooth, she is all about momentum, reminds me of a 125GP racer

So by the end of Sept we will have put the new tanks through about 13,500km rallye racing, so that should be a good test for them :) will post feedback of course, but I reckon they will be the goods

Come and meet Ze Helio this Sunday

Anyone who is in Perth this Sunday we are heading out to the Balmoral pub in Victoria Park Sunday 12/9/2010 for dinner with Ze Helio @ 6.30pm if you want to join us for a meal or drinks, all are welcome. We will be in the meals area.

See you there

Top find Bushie.
Good to note the old school 6Fidee lurking behind a few LDC's end of stage 2.

It was great to see Ze Helio win the final stage of the event, giving Husaberg their stage win.

Congratulations to the whole Husaberg Rallye Team - a fantastic job. Well done.

Great stuff for the Hbg team

some footage mostly from the little 5 km beach stage

[youtube:mujaylun]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVOycothbdM[/youtube:mujaylun]

it was originally set to go right by my block in the bush and through some muddly swampy trails and then run about 20km along "my" beach at high tide which can be very technical with very soft areas at high tide there is no beach at all in a couple of spots, holes full of seaweed to miss and would have been great to watch from where i was and favours the high HP bikes with light front ends so I was dissapointed this bit got cancelled.

the bigger of the 2 stages to the west still ran so very happy for all the competitors to have been able to experience a bit of the great riding down here.

was nice to chat with Gazza about the new bikes and get to check out their new layout

Annie said she absolutely loved the sand here and wanted to be able to ride more than the 2 short stages   I agree !! its just so much fun carving new lines in the sand and falling off isn't such a bad thing.

great effort this year by Gazza and his Team will all the bikes and riders still going at the finish in an event with something like 40% DNFs.

after looking over the new bikes id like to see someone put a 650 engine in that new frame

Hi Bushy, thanks for the posts you put up, yeah it was a great event we all loved it and the Bergs did all proud, 100% finish for the 70degreer''s  , the 650 had a rider injury dnf

great to catch up and ride some of your local turf :D

this years Safari was the tightest and toughest of the 4 so far in WA, 40% dnf rate is up there with an average Dakar dnf rate 8O

Plans are already well afoot for next years Safari, rumour is it will be heading north up towards the Pilbara

hey no worries ... nothing compared to the ADVrider thread

the rallye radio and the nightly youtube updates were all really good this year

It was great to have the event come through, chat to you and some of the riders and be able to see all the different machines all in one place. we tried but couldn't find a CRF pit that hadn't had intake valves close up :D

have to feel for the guy on the 650 out with a busted wrist ... just been down the beach... 135 is no problem .. in 5th.. it was only a 3 minute stage but probably the one best suited to his bike, shame he missed it.

Pilbarra next year sounds very cool, lots of riverbeds and knarly rocks.

seeing a bit more of what goes on I'd like to build a rallye bike and do the safari one year if I can find enough sheckels.

I heard that some of the 570's had head gasket issues. Were the copper head gaskets fitted to the bikes before the event?

yes but nothing that was not caught and preventive maintainence done and changed out to be 100% sure.

Will post a full mechanical post event run down shortly. No biggies for us, main one was David Schwar'z's big end was starting to sound/feel a little loose so again we changed it out to be on the safe side.

Ze's TPS had issues which cost him time on Day 2 and a 5 hour marathon penalty to sort it out properly.
