Hi Everyone
Need to replace my regulator as its not grounding the power relay and no power to fuel pump or ignition
Has anybody had success using the aftermarket units or do i need OEM
Have read on some of the KTM forums the chinese units don't work as they don't have the grounding circuit in the regulator internals

1 - check that it is the reg that is not supplying ground, which I suppose you have done.
1a - disconnect the regulator "ground output" (the small wires only) and put a switch in line to apply the ground for the power relay independent of the regulator.
Switch ON to start the moto.
As long as the reg puts out 14+ volts dc it's still good.
I have a regulator and one "ground out" is fused shut while the other internal relay works.
There are 2 small wires at the regulator and they both do the same thing, so you can try the other wire as they are on separate internal relays.
If you get the power relay out (which I would do to help isolate the problem) extend the cable so you don't have to take the bike apart to replace.
What a F'ing stupid place to put a relay.
2 - get the OEM reg ! fleabay ?
3 - Yes china/aftermarket often don't have the "ground out" or even worse the wire is positive not neg.

Thankyou
Your information is much appreciated
The owner of the bike ended up opting for a new OEM regulator which fixed the problem
