My 2009 FE450 starts and runs for about 3 seconds and then stops. It will do this as many times as you like, but it will not keep running. I suspected the fuel pump and replaced that but with no improvement to the problem. Has anyone got a suggestion on where to look?

Hi Mr.brucem310

How are you.
My name is Tatsuaki.

Mounting the fuel hose attached? Surely?
Gasoline does not go and does not contain all the way.

How about?

Best regards.

????????? (Please forgive me if I have written this incorrectly! I speak the Japanese language very poorly.)

Good suggestion. Does the bike cut out any faster if you give it gas?

Thanks for the suggestions. Fuel line is properly attached and, as I mentioned, fuel pump has been replaced. Amount of throttle does not impact time that bike will run for, it still runs for 3 seconds regardless of throttle and revs. What are you thinking Anthon?

Thanks Taffy. The starter is working strongly so could it still be the starter solenoid that is causing the motor cut out 3 seconds after starting?

(If it were a fuel line issue, I'd think that giving it more gas would stall it faster than the 3 seconds as you finish whatever gas is laying available to the injector past the blockage. I'd trust Taffy on this one.)

have you tried a fuel filter? it might be that it just can't get any pressure up because the filter is blocked.

Taffy
