I recently had to sell my 400 exc due to a family emergency and now that I have some cash saved up I am back in the market. I recently can across a 2009 fe450 factory plated that I'm looking at. Price $4000 182 hours 3200 miles. I'm hoping to get some opinions if this is a good buy or not? I did some research on here but came up with only a few posts in the matter. My old 400 only had 88 hours on her so the higher hours of this bike worries me a little. Thanks for your time!

see if the fuel pump has been replaced most have been a problem. if its in real good shape then $4000.00 is not bad. one way to see if it,s good look at chain guides for wear like new is best

The guy who owns it now is the 2nd owner and he is unsure if the fuel pump has been replaced. The orginal owner did a full tune before he got it and he doesnt ride it very often. I am from Northern, California.

I have 2011 FE570 with over 7000 miles on it still runs like new. no work on the motor. All I've done to mine is brake pads, battery and chain guides. But that being side I have spent a lot on accessories most not needed. 70d motors are great. Again look at the chain guides that can you a lot. I've never see a plated 450 in Cal. So look into that also.

I have put 100+ hours on the same bike. Wrap the exhaust/under tank, clean air/fuel/oil and still going strong. They are a bear to work on.....removing the tank is a major PIA. I have checked valves at 10, 50 & 100 hours and still in spec. Changed oil & filter every 10hrs, run ethanol free fuel, used 50/50Rotella/Motorex Synthetic. As mentioned the fuel pumps have been problematic. Mine replaced at ~12 hrs under warranty. Easy to service OC forks, PDS= maintenance free! I bought mine from a riding buddy @~10 hours for $3800USD...he couldn't give it away. Handles great!
