CycleBuy has partnered with Pro Moto Billet to tackle this project and in the next 3-4 weeks we will have a model specific stand available for these bikes. These stands will be Black anodized with all of the same features that their other stands have. Since we made the substantial commitment to fund the first run of these we will be the only place to get one. ETA of 7/12 If you have any questions please call us @ 888-284-4588 We are accepting pre-orders for these units and will be offering them at an introductory sales price of $144.99

Thanks

Hi Aryn,

That sounds like a very cool item!

How will they differ from the stock side stand? Will it hold the bike up straighter, have a larger foot pad?

Dale

They do have a more upright posture along with a larger foot for better floatation on soft surfaces. The biggest advantage is it eliminates the less than adequate pivot that KTM and Husaberg have used in the past. As you can see in the photo there is no external spring to get yanked off and these stands tuck up under the number plate so they won't bit you in the event of a crash. No more bikes laying on the garage floor because the pivot broke and no more missing footpads or zip-tied up because your spring got pulled off. Here is a spy shot of the non anodized unit. Finished unit will be Black anodized!
They are already on the website and we have had a much higher initial interest than expected.

Yes I am all too aware of the weak standard pivot bolt, many times I have watched people walk up to my 570 often with beer in hand & lean or rest some of their body weight on the seat with their elbows or even worse try to mount & sit on the bike with the stand down. Usually these are friends with out much bike experience, no my question will the Pro Billet stand support the weight of the bike & rider? Used a Trail tech on a ktm years ago & it's wasn't a problem although no recommended to do so.

Pro Moto Billet designs their kickstands to support the motorcycle, not a motorcycle and rider. That being said, a lighter person sitting on the bike in a position where the bike is close to vertical should not have a problem.

Having used Pro Moto Billet kickstands for years on my KTM 300, I can say from experience that they are very strong in a vertical plane, but their design may not be as strong as Trail Tech's design at withstanding lateral force. TT uses a cast steel bracket, while PMB uses a sandwiched aluminum design around an internal spring.

PMB has made several design improvements in recent years so the center pin is now clipped in place instead of relying on a hidden nut that had to be tightened periodically.

Hope this helps,

Bob R.

Good job cyclebuy for getting this done!! when the big guy's want something done it get's done!!

We are still a small fish in a really big pond, but it does help that we have been Pro Moto Billet's #1 dealer for the past 5 years, AND we committed to buying a large quantity of these stands even if we don't sell a single one.

Latest word from the production crew at PMB is that they are waiting for the legs to come back from anodizing early next week. It will take a few days to get the kickstands assembled, but we should have them in hand to start shipping by the end of next week.

Thanks for the support we have received from this forum and others.

Regards,

Bob R.

They actually do exist! We thought the new PMB kickstand for the 2009-12 Husaberg's would be shipping last week, but production has taken a little longer than projected. We just got this picture from Pro Moto Billet.

Looks like we will start shipping them next Tuesday or Wednesday for those of you that have pre-ordered.

A big thanks to CycleBuy for helping get this new kickstand produced! I just installed one today, and it looks great. I broke two stock kickstands this year. I even added a plate to the bottom of the second one to increase its surface area hoping it wouldn't sink into the dirt so easily, but it still sunk and broke.
