I have a 2006 650fe with a new battery and the bike will turn over with the e-start the next day and then a day later it won't start. The battery has been checked and not faulty.

The bike only has 700 miles on it.
It has spark and fresh gas. Also tried kicking it and nothing,
Also checked and gas is in the float bowl.

Also 3 guys pushing it couldn't jump start it either in any gear. It just locks up and skids.

One of my friends with an xr650 couldn't believe how hard the kick start was to push
through compared to his.

Any thoughts would be appreciated as I'm pulling my hair out on this one. All I want to do is ride
this beast!

your decomp on the cam has become unwound.

Taffy, the tip is much appreciated. What's involved to fix this? Does it just need a new part. Also is there a way to prevent this problem from happening again.

Thanks in advance to all members here!

no, just reset it with a little extra twist to make the spring stronger. it may be in the doc? I make the two wires go from 90d to each other to being parallel. you'll understand it when it's in your hand.

regards

Taffy

pull in the decomp lever sligthly whilst trying to E start the engine should turn over and fire up. if you let the decomp lever out and it stops turning on the E start you have a decompressor spring problem.
