It looks like nothings changed in the maintenance department. In fact it looks like things have got significantly worse !
Look at the 2005 schedule (now on the Husaberg website). Valve clearance checks every 15 hours, on my 2002 I do it every 30 hours and that is probably too often. Who on earth is going to check the clutch spring length every 30 hours.
Now look at the crankshaft, balancer and camshaft bearings. They have reduced the interval of replacement now by half ! I know I’m comparing these to the old FS schedule but still.
If someone was going to strip the engine down every 15 / 45 hours then I would be very surprised if any of the threads were still in tact by the 135 hour point.
Reading through the manual concerns me that Husaberg are going to struggle to keep their bikes road legal over the next few years with comments like, “only the throttled version are allowed on public roads” and we all know that the throttled versions do not even run properly.
Still, I remember about five years ago when reading through my friends Aprilia manual I read the warning, “do not dry any animals or clothing on the hot exhaust pipe”. So things have not got that bad yet.
Lloyd.
