if you read my previous post about my 99fe400 quitting 55mi. into the little burr, the results are the stator is hosed. I've had it a year and its nickel and diming me now. I'm gonna get rid of it. However, that being said, i found an 05' 450 for a great price. Is there anything I should know about the 05 model? anyone who has one let me know what you think of it. I want to stay on a berg, but am considering a 100 aniv. 04 450 husky also. the dealer i was getting berg parts from is not going to handle berg's anymore......so it's decision time. I know the guy selling the husky, and know its been taken care of.

from somebody who went from a 98 400 to an 04 450, i can overwhelmingly endorse the change! a lot more bike than the husky imo.
only change i made was to go to a 13t front sprocket.

Maybe you should ask yourself why it's a great price... maybe it was nickel & diming the
current owner too or they're just forced into a quick sale? Having said that mine's got 260 hours, trouble free. Great bike IMO

Maybe it's because Berg are hard to sell. A bad reputation is hard to get rid of...

tend to agree with lefrog. bergs tend to be cheaper here in the uk for several reasons but i think the 2 main ones are the percieved reliability problems and the fact the average riding joe has never heard of the brand.

l want to thank you for your opinions........and i wouldn't disagree with either of you. I live in Ohio......there are no berg dealers here. closest dealer is over 500 miles, and he will not be a berg dealer any longer...I want to hear about the 2005 fe 450e. not sure i'll ride another enduro on my 99 fe400, love the bike....but now don't trust it. there seems to be nothing when I do a search with 2005 or "05 fe450, and I know after 04 they are more reliable bikes, just wanna hear from some riders who have rode them, especially ones who have ridden the 04 husky and bergs..........

well i've said it before here but my mate who races with me from the nexxt village had an '04 450 husey and at the end of the season decided to have a 450 husky. mainly because the dealer we shared themn wanted out of huseys and was a husky dealer.

chris couldn't sell the husey so he kept it for the season and come the end of the year he went back to the berg because it was easier to ride and had better handling than the husky.

so thats what he's still on!

regards

Taffy
