Hello all, recently discovered the Husabergs, yet to own one but read more and more about them everyday. Excited to start what could be a new maker obsession.

Currently living in Japan, looking to purchase a 2004 fe650e with the intent of bringing it back to the U.S. (ohio) upon the completion of a work assignment. I have done some initial searching online to try and find out if Husaberg originally imported this same bike to the U.S. which may help me out from a EPA stand point. Any advice as to where I can verify if this bike meets EPA U.S. requirements from 2004 is greatly appreciated. I will have a vin. tomorrow, unsure where this bike was imported in to Japan from.
Thanks
Joe

Japan, looking to visit there soon, seems like a great place.

I already like your style mate with regard to your new interest in this model.

I don't really know much about the US market but I'd be pretty sure it would be easier to just buy one when you get back to the USA. They would've definitely been for sale there originally. There would probably be a few to choose from there as its a big market?

If you can, try find one 2005 on, they are a better overall machine.

not really sure what your question is about, but the fact that i have an '04 650 in the garage and the vin is identical in structure to yours except instead of hua, mine is hus (bet your's is too)

According to the new EPA Secretary to the USA, I don't think they care anymore what happen from a environmental stand point, you should be able to run anything you want.

Thanks guys, I have two years to figure it out. I pick the bike up in two weeks. Can't wait!!

I think vin with HUA in them are Australian market Husabergs. My 450 has HUA in the vin and on the sticker it says Husaberg Australia

Damo W,
funny you should mention that, vin search shows this bike as a 2005 fe650e :). Not many of these floating around in Japan, dealers don`t know much about them including the one I am purchasing this from. Trying to sort out what parts have been switched out from stock (currently set up for supermoto). Also attempting to confirm engine number is correct to the frame.
