Hi all,

Does anybody know if I can install a Husa part number 590.36.031.000 exhaust valve in a 2001 Husa FX650? KTm has them on the shelf locally, Husa OEM part number for my machine is 20000801 and they tell me not till end of summer delivery?

thanks

Order from the uk... No duties and u will have it quicker than if you ordered from the states....that being said boss Offroad in the states probably has them. Think globally if you can't get locally.

thanks - but the question remains - is there a difference between the 30mm valve in the 2001-2003 models, can I use a 2004 model 30mm valve on these.

yes they are different. the later 30mm is 1mm shorter and the tappet screw goes 1/3 into the locknut. it is 'ify' from then on.

I do a 30mm that is the same length as the old engines had but the cotter groove is not 1mm from the top but 2mm.

this would normally compress the springs more of course so I don't recommend this valve without going to DVSK.

that is what I do on all my engines and for my customers.

up to you.

Taffy

the lineaweaver 02 head I have has the shorter valves

valve seats have been cut deeper into the head to compensate

if you can organize that then the best and quickest option are the kibblewhites listed for the KTM 525 RFS

they also have generic valve blanks very economical and very very high quality compared to another source I have tried.

they also have the best dual valve spring kit http://husaberg.org/mechanical/10680-all-about-valve-springs-nice-pics.html

catalog here

Kibblewhite Precision Machining: Kibblewhite's 2013 Manufacturer's Product Catalog

also consider KTM sintered iron valve guides that don't require honing after install.

Dave hopkins or DJH is a good source for these

Thanks guys, that's the info I need!

Taffy, how fast could you get me a head gasket, 70l iwis chain with connecting link - not a soft link! 2 OEM or replica exhaust valves?
Message me, I pay credit card or PayPal but need this stuff ASAP.

I believe the ones I installed when I built the motor were 2004+ now that you mention it because the tappet adjuster was always only partially into the nut.

Thanks

Alison will PM you when she gets in - soon.

the advice you've been given above isn't be right I'm afraid.

regards

Taffy
