who has experience installing 2003 rocker arms on 2000 year and older husaberg models?i am specifically trying to find out if 2003 rockers can be used on a year 1996 husaberg?thanx, dan

Hi Dan,

My 00 Parts Manual says the 12mm shaft and rocker arms were first used in the 96 models, so the 03 arms will work in the 96. Just make sure you drill splash oiling holes in the 03 arms to match the ones in the 96 arms.

See my Gallery!

Joe

yes as long as you have a head with the 35/30 or 35/27 valves you're halfway there.

the problem you have is that although both arms fit, the inlet rocker has been shortened by 15-20mm. where it used to go past the fork holding the follower and to the end was the same length as the exhaust; it is now shorter. that 20mm is taken up with rocker cover aiding support as near the pressure point as possible.

suggest that if you do go this route you have a 15-20mm stainless steel spacer made etc. however the spacer will offer no support.....

i'd be tempted to leave it.

I've put the 03 rockers on my 00 501 ,per Joe's gallery and suggestion I drilled the oiling holes. I'm not sure about valve sizes or rocker arm length, but I didn't see any difference in arm length. Got the 03 rockers from Motoxotica few years back. No problems to date.

sorry! i'm on about the '04s.

'03s swop no problem.

Taffy
