Looking at a 2003 Berg 650 .. I have all the tools , and I mean all the tools .. From a knackerd screwdriver for prying things to a 60 ton hydraulic press . I have the knowings of how to use all these tools .. BUT how is the spares for a 2003 650 .. anything in short supply ? Can I fill a bucket with big ends and cam shafts? Will I be able to source anything I need without recourse to prostitution or wizards hats ?

Well, it depends. If you have the skills of Bushmechanic/Lineaweaver/Taffy/ and many others on this board, you'll be slightly challenged and very well rewarded with some effort. If you're like me, a guy who need a catalog and a parts number, you will have significant challenge. However, even a guy like me, has access to guys like them due to this board. Consequently, you already found the best tool for owning such a beast (which is awesome!).

You have the tools (I don't) and the knowledge of how to apply them (I don't). The rest is just finding guys who have been there before. On this board, you'll be well situated with those "tools" as well. Accordingly, I say go for it if you want a rare and uniquely powerful machine that I guaranty you won't see around many a corner on your rides!

I have heard of the Taff on the interweb before , his work is well known . I am a pro spanner and metal melter .. but not on bikes . My job involves somewhat larger equipment , if it weighs less than 45 ton, it's small tools )))

if you like the bike, I believe you're going to be fine. It's a single, even custom made parts are limited.
