Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm new to Husabergs and have already found a lot useful info on here about my bike. I was wondering if you new of any parts dealers in Oz? I've seen a couple on here but are overseas.
Paid $350 for the bike and needs some work.

New rear fender, front light and shroud, starter upgrade, decompression mod, valve spring upgrade?, possibly cam gear/chain? to begin with and possibly more if I want to make the bike reliable(from what I've read) It has good compression, carby might need overhaul or new one.

Honestly are they worth spending that sort of money on or should I start with a newer bike?

Why do you guys like Husabergs so much?

I like Husabergs so much because they're different, light and they haul a$$.
The 650s have probably the most awesome 4-stroke single cylinder engine I've ever had the privilege of riding.
They make power everywhere but aren't peaky or uncontrollable. Just an excellent powerplant.

I've never ridden one but can't wait to get back home and get the bike running to go for a ride and see what I think. Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Jeff

when you get it going you won't wonder why we like them anymore.. 650 engine is awesome, 501 next in line

ORANGEBERG used to be a dealer his details are here

you have Suttos in sydney

I have also used mototech geelong for parts

if you are considering the dual valve springs check the specs and pricing so you know what you are paying for. I rate the kibblewhites 96-96000 very highly

Thanks for the feedback bushmechanic. I have learnt so much about these machines in such a short time. I am definitely going work my arse off when I get home to get it running. I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Hi Jeff, I recently picked up a 2002 Fe501 as well, although I paid slightly more at $500 and it is slightly busted (refer my post in new users - Hoge's Husa).

Happy to share info and resources as I progress with mine. I'm based in Melb. 0417507875.

don't be scared to get bits over here in blighty. I have a lot of modified stuff made. BTW, the postage is cheaper here than in Oz according to some!

Cheers Taffy, I have checked out your store already and noticed the upgraded parts most of which I haven't seen advertised anywhere else. I have a feeling I'll be giving you a call at some stage.

not sure what you see there (I know, my site and I don't know the answer!) but like a starter repair kit should appear to anyone not registered as 20 quid but once you are registered and sign in you see all the prices before our EU tax called VAT which is 20% in the UK. so you either see 16.66gbp or 20gbp OK? but the price is 16.66 to dingo lovers once registered.

regards

Taffy
