well, we have become Gurus in decals....sick of the sight of them actually! boxes of the bleedin things!

this first photo is of two types of right hand fuel tank decal. one goes all the way up and around the cap: the other doesn't?

and this one below is similar? it is the decal for the left side fuel tank and one stays just down in the back corner and the other goes up all the way over to the tank cap again?

SO WHICH MODELS HAD THE DECALS ALL THE WAY UP AND AROUND THE CAP? I can't see clearly from the 1998 brochure?

the next thing is, that I have got lots of decals for the tank. if it is an FE/FX tank it has 5 decals and if it is an FE....S or a FX it has a short tank and 4 decals.

I have all this covered (yippee!)

alas, after this, the '98 looks iffy. I'm likely to make:
fork guard decals left and right (they ARE handed)
the suffix decal over the headlamp/MX front board
the front fender/mudguard left and right decals
the rear seat pan decal

I have the seat pan decal

has anyone got a front fender, suffix or especially: fork guard decals I can borrow and scan the decal?

I'd like a 'vector file' if anyone has one for this generation please.

all these gifts will earn some kind of discount as long as I go that way! can't have me earning my living and you all living in squalour now can we?

I'm going to have several hundred of some decals made and i'm finding all the decal makers in the Uk really mickey mouse. anyone in the EU who can get on with this? .... you know: bish, bash, bosch!

I think one set is for the FC model, and the other set fits the FE/FX.

For a couple years the FE/FX used the old style fuel tank that drops down on the right side, like the 96 and older bikes.

The FC's used a smaller tank, that is taller and bulkier around the gas cap area.

I have several old magazines with tests for the 97/98 bikes. I will take a look.
 
OK thanks for the help with this! having received lots of PMs and emails I have come to the conclusion that
if it has a droopy tank it also has a low cap
if it has a low cap it doesn't have the tall decal and on the left of the tank it just gets a triangle!

so

FS

all have the MX tall tank and high decals

FE...e
FX...e
Enduro (Kick)
Elduro Enduro (leccy boot)
all have the low cap low right tank

IT IS NOW SORTED IN MY HEAD!

can I ask again: if you have:
left or right front mudguard/fender decals (2)
left or right front fork gaurd decals (2)
front plate index decal (1)

I'd like to borrow any of the above 5 oran old decal/your plastic etc to scan the design?

I have front fender and fork decals, but they are in the plastics

Not sure if I have the front light decals because I have 2 sets of plastics and I'm a bit confused.

Also don't forget about the bottom decal of the longer fuel tank, don't know if you have it, but that one I'm missing (sending you pict)

If you don't find a solution near you, let me know, and we will try to make it happen some how.

I have some decals, the fork leg ones are both the same, L/H and R/H. I have a good decal guy over here (Brisbane). The "Fluro" yellow is the colour the majority of decal guys will never get right, he has just done some for me for my 99 FE501, we copied the 98 style (99 look ****...too much 99 KTM influence...must have been the same designer). I will try and send you some photo's, we changed the blue out for fluro orange as I bought 2 Technosel seat covers that are orange and yellow fluro colours...it looks pretty good. If I ever get lost they will find the bike quick. The Aussie dollar is pretty **** compared to the pound/euro so it may work out. My guy uses the best glues that will stay on a tank. The original manufacturers name is on the L/H shroud/spoiler from memory....they may still have the designs/templates available. I will email Julia tomorrow, cheers John Tate.

I put his name recently as a thread title....something like Anders Myrberg. you can sure see his work in the 1995, 1996 (similar) and the 1997 and 1998 bikes. his name isn't on the 1999 stuff and as you say it looks miserable compared.

flouro is back (did it ever go away! ask VR46).

i'm hoping someone in europe has the fork leg and front mudguard decals peeling.....

this decal below is for the FC and the FE....S as well as any FS supermoto s you shouuld find

the two below are for the FE and FX 'droopy' tank that is down to the engine and has a low cap with no real neck/collar.

decal makers in the UK seem to be very ambivulent about price, speed, service...

it's proving impossible to find someone who will make thr decals.

anybody got ideas? basically, KTM may not like it....

BTW, Did you happen to receive any tank decals for a 2000 FR600? The 2000 FR600 has a 99 frame, the huge huge tank and a side number plate auxillary tank all stock.

i'm sure that the 1999 is the last year I got. I happen top have 60 sets of tank decals for the "FR" bikes. do you know, I haven't even checked out my 2000 brochure for how things change for that year!

I'll have a look!

not sure I'm gonna trust ting-tong land and that far away for what i want?
