Hell all, owner of a 1998 FC 501.
Anyways, I disassembled the left side engine to fix some sticky shifting issues and ended up removing the clutch basket (damn kick start shaft popped out) and after reassembly, clutch is "sloppy". As in, both my cable adjustments are bottomed out and clutch is barely engaging. I've tried a combination of 3 different stock baskets/plates all in fairly new condition with the same result.
Am I missing a shim or is there another adjustment? I read somewhere about a "clutch pill" but have yet to find much info on it. I also own the 98 service/owners manuals but they are also pretty vague.

Any info or wisdom is greatly appreciated, -Steve

There is a shim between the disengaging pushrod and the pressure sleeve disengaging pushrod. # 54 on the clutch diagram of the 98 parts manual. Could this piece have gotten lost?

You know what, this could be exactly what I'm missing. Is there anything that could work as a substitute? (Such as a sliver from an old push rod?)My Husaberg is my daily transportation and don't have time to wait for parts from across seas.

Update: I used a thin piece of old clutch rod to make my own shim. Assembled and test rode; shifting is waaaaay smoother and clutch is back to normal. Thanks for the reference.
