Hello again

So I've blown out my carb now. The bike fires right up with the choke on, idles way too high, then mellows down. Feather the throttle, and she's dead. Turn off the choke and get the same result. Wandering what a good starting point is for stop screw and idle screw. Probably more to do than that I'd imagine. Any hints are welcome.

Carb is a dellorto VHSB-38. Elevation of most riding, when she's all ready, should be about 3000-4500ft. Possibly could get as high 6500ft fairly easy on ghost town runs.I don't know if it matters but I will be lugging and putting around a lot. Hoping to get some riding with my soon-to-be four year old.

Also wandering what a "good" deal on a spare carb of the same model is since I found one. I've only found one other for $95. I can get one at about half that. Good idea, bad idea?

the VHSB is a poor carb mate. get a later PHM carb if you can from a 2001-2003 being broken. jetting may be close but irrelevant. change and freshen at the same time. I'm sure trhere are 38mm PHMs on ebay USA.

regards

Taffy
