Is the 2010 tensioner any different? If yes, Will it fit on an 2009?

Looking to answer the second part of your question. At this point without a positive yes or no, I will venture a guess that yes it will. We'll see.

While mine has made some noise from time to time, it has always pumped back up within 20-30 seconds and no more noise. 70 hours on the clock now.
 
I am looking at a new 09 and I read that a very few have had a problem. Since the 10 is new, and fits a 09, I will get one and install it. I'm sure someone will try it.
