09 FE450 oil leak

Hi guys, any hints on how to fix an oil leak from behind the front sprocket? 09 FE450 with 110hrs
It's comming out of the shaft/seal so I guess I'll have to replace the seal? what about the bearing? I don't have the parts manual listing motor parts so don't even have a schematic or part# to go on.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have a 390 that is a little prone to this - been told it is quite common. Replace the seal, which is straight forward and cheap.

Also make sure you don't overfill engine with oil as I heard this can contribute to high pressure forcing oil out through seals (???? only been told this so maybe someone could confirm?????)

I have also just ordered a Dirt Tricks KTM counter shaft dome washer which I have heard can help stop this happening. Bit of a price but if it works, hell its worth it - and they ship quick from USA.

Thanks, the pic helps alot and I can understand what they're saying about the dome washer (have just ordered one and a cam chain tensioner while I was there).
You say to replace the seal, I gather you mean to replace the Oring?
Does anyone have the part#? or can I just use one of same size from my local store?

I think I did slightly over fill the oil but believe this all started after removing & refitting front sprocket, so the dome washer flattening out makes sense.

Yes the oring - not sure on part number but common ktm part!

Hi Mate, I have just done my 570 with 212 Hrs on it... I use this company for parts http://www.mototech.com.au service and delivery time has been good.
I replaced the seal and the O ring to be sure.
