I had found a forum on this topic but I want to re address it if I may. In the last forum ( not that I can find it ) everyone said the fuel economics of the 09's wasn't as good as would of been expected! Can anyone tell me again what sort of range you are getting out of your bike? I've just done a ride covering about 90 Km and used around 3/4 of a tank but I recall guys saying they were getting 50 miles from a tank (well thats around 86Km)??? Whats the go??

Mat

Hi Mat,
I am getting 69/70 miles to the tank on trail riding and as little as 40 miles or as much as 50 miles when racing, depending on the terrain.
Something to watch for is the fact that the pump does not draw all the fuel out of the tank !
I ran out of fuel the other week on a trail ride, luckily i was less than a mile from a fuel station, so pushed the bike and filled up. I thought i had enough in to make it as i could physically see the fuel level in the bottom wing sections of the tank at about 30mm .
My guess is that there is around 0.3 litres left in the tank when it runs out.

Nick

i did 45 miles on sunday on my 450 fe 09 and only used 6 lts of fuel

09 570. I'm getting 65-70 miles a tank, trail riding. Basically 32 miles a gallon.

Hi Mat

I will get no more than 94kms before it stops. I know of others that get the same & we all run Akrapovic's on ours. From our findings, the stock muffler seems to get better fuel range although I have not tried this myself yet..

Luke.

100km for me on my 570 on stock tank, added rear sub frame fuel tank mod and get about 130-140km

HEY JONNY,
The mod on the subframe is not that hard if your willing to drill holes in your baby!
I would say, from what I can gather from this website, the best person to talk to would be TAFFY ( not that i know the man ) but he seems to know his ****

have a a search there is a specific thread for the sub frame conversion. its been done mos t is Oz and one of the oz dealers or members has put together a conversion kit.

Gazza is the one to speak with and the thread is in the 'fuel' forum near the top.

Valley Force will do an excellent mod for you Zeus! I will be getting mine done very soon.

Hey Jonny,
I am still trying to source Richie a nice little bsp x barb brass tap to use on his conversion!

im doing 125 km on a 450. next week i'm in Spain for the Alto Turia Rally, a minimum range of 150km is required there. i'm briinging a 0,6l gasoline bottle, if you never hear from me again it wasn't enough...
