posted a similar thread previously so apologises for all the new threads. however how much work does it take? has it been done? thanks

because i have an 04 bike that needs a new engine and the possibility to buy an 09 engine

dont see the relevance in that reply

thankyou thats a fair comment, i had no idea about layout of engine mounts but if it would be such hard work then ill hold out for an 04+ engine

I'd put an 04 650 in a new frame but not the other way around

but again don't let that stop you for SM it would be a nice bike IMO

the relevance is that i'm sure i wasnt the only one wondering why you'd want to do a project like that or aren't we allowed to ask questions?

as bushy says its probably easier and more worth while the other way around but i'd not like to have paid for the amounts of mods he's done to his bikes.

if you'd of followed why with your later explanation there would of been no issue but just a why was quite patronising

hey adam this sites pretty good for not being full of idiots ripping on anyone with any idea beyond riding something bigger than (read other than) an ahem (cough cough spit) honda 250f

cyphers got some good ideas about frames. hes not having a go at you

I can see where the "why" question could be taken the wrong way and that kind of typical response is well based on thumpertalk.com

I think you would have some issues getting the air intake on the new engine to line up with a workable location for an air filter and possibly the swingarm mount might mean that you'd have to cut the lower cradle and change it.

my "new" frame looks like the Llamberger, nothing left but the lower cradle, pics soon
