Hi All,

I've got an 09 FE570 which is running like crap past ~60% throttle, backfiring and surging. Seems like it's running lean which I've chased it down to the TPS which I've replaced. Both before and after the values max out at 3.3-4.0v which is obviously too low as it should be 4.8. I'm reasonably sure that's what's causing it to run like crap. Idle is relatively fine, low value reads below .601v but it seems to start and run ok.

Obviously the TPS wasn't the problem but the voltage at the ECU with a needle in pin 5 and measured to ground is still too low, afaik it's one wire directly from the ECU to the TPS plug so I doubt it's a contact issue. What else could it be? Where do I go from here in diagnosing this or does it just need to go to a Husa/Husky shop near me?

EDIT: Also I've got a good 5v at the plug.

Clean replace all filters 4 of them also the injector. If that does work then get fuel sock at filler neck at tank to avoid later problems.

This will seem obvious but check the throttle body and air track for obstruction. Check to make sure the throttle cable is moving freely and opening the butterfly all the way.

I was chasing the same issue and it ended up be a paper towel that had been left in the throttle body to keep debris out. I was chasing my tail for a couple days.

09fe570 you seems a good mechanic. So seems to me only a pro mecanic can be of help, that has experienced this before.
Hopefully we got them on this forum.
Feels like a bad wire or connection.
Can a bad ecu cause this?
I can not be of much help but bad grounds can also cause lots of ****.
