Hey guys, had a broken valve spring on my berg so have replaced with a dvsk and new valves, new cam chain etc. Have put it back together twice now and still she won't fire. I had it at tdc with the markings lined up. What have I done wrong??

Cheers

Bottom timing mark as well as top?? Does it have spark ? Does it have fuel or is it getting fuel?

**** no, where is the bottom timing mark located? Yes has fuel and spark.

Cheers

as birdwood says....

the correct way to time a Husaberg is to get the two gears in the left cover done first. then get TDC DEADLY ACCURATELY RIGHT.

to do this you need the

"leading edge of the ignition staple to be at 9 o clock AND in a line between A= the centre hole in the end of the crank
and
B= the lower edge of the ignition cover bolt hole that is at 9 o clock.

then get your cam lobes to point up (yes UP!!!!) so that they look symetrical and like Mickey Mouse's ears.

they should look perfectly parallel to the top head surface.

then turn the engine 360d and the lobes will point down ready for the rocker cover.

So its getting gas, has spark and I have the bottom timing marks in the left cover ligned up as well at the timing marks on the cam gear ligned up to the casing with the cams pointing up, put it back together and she still won't fire, any ideas?

valves seating?
decomp working all the time? (too weak)
carb blocked with old fuel.

There's fuel in the bowl, I had the valves set to the instructions you gave me but maybe the engine rebuilders stuffed it up? How would I check this? The decomp is different from when it was going, sometimes is got good tension and sometimes its got none. Also the kick start jams when I put the cover over it.

Cheers

Just because there is fuel in bowl doesn't mean it's getting through I would take a guess the pilot jet to gummed up. Due to sitting around while rebuild was getting done.

make sure you adjusted the valves with the lobes down (rotate cw til tdc AFTER intakes close)

Cheers guys will have a look at fuel this week, also I've noticed the kick start is now jammed but the bike turns over with the electric start?
